Public Rally at Guildhall on 30th June

On 30th June there will be a rally at the Guildhall in Northampton for those supporting the strike by teachers, lecturers and other public sector workers. There will be speakers from UCU, NUT, ATL and PCS, as well as a speaker from Unison to highlight the dangers of the attacks on the NHS.

We will have balloons, colouring in, face painting and books for the young (and young at heart). If you live outside Northampton but wish to attend we are running coaches from Corby, Wellingborough and Kettering. If you wish to book a seat please contact me on northamptonanticuts@gmail.com

Coverage of strikes on 30th June

Funny how the article says that a one day strike will "cripple services" but that it makes no mention of the devastating impact that the cuts will have for decades to come.

Campaign Tee Shirt for Saturday's march

Campaign Tee Shirt for Saturday's march

SPECIAL CAMPAIGN LOW PRICE. JUST £12.99! Mr Cameron and his, very, junior partner Nick Clegg would have us believe that our society can do just fine with fewer nurses and teachers.  Closing down schools, hospitals, childrens' centres and services for the elderly adds up to a smaller, worse society, neither big nor better. All in the cause of deficit reduction?  How about taxing the bankers' bonuses and closing down corporate tax evasion. Wear Philosophy Football's  'Does my Society Look Big in This'  T-shirt on the 26 March  TUC March for the Alternative, the brilliant direct actions of UKUncut or wherever and whenever the protest takes you. Available in sizes S-XXL, plus women's skinny fitted. From www.philosophyfootball.com

Northants County Council have bowed to local pressure and announced that "no libraries will close at this point."

Congratulations to all those who have fought to keep the libraries open, but we must ensure that this isn't simply a postponement and continue to fight all the cuts
